The following mechanically sophisticated version of a solid brass shower solves a not-so-trivial physical problem: calming flowing water so that it emerges completely calm, free of any turbulence and aerosols. This is visible in its crystalline clarity and perceptible in the gentle force with which it touches the skin – just as it should be for Kneipp treatments and after sauna sessions. The water doesn't bead up on the skin but remains in contact for a longer period, enhancing its stimulating effect. We achieve this with considerable effort: When you switch from the normal spray to the laminar flow by simply turning the shower head, the water is directed from a distribution plate through a cascade of five stacked sieves and a specially developed laminator, thus becoming completely calm and flowing in a perfectly parallel manner. The entire mechanism involved, literally every part, is assembled from CNC-machined brass components.
If you disassemble it completely (out of curiosity or for cleaning purposes, but reassembly takes time), you will only find a single piece of plastic (the laminator insert is made of plastic) - and not a single part that is not easy to clean or obtain as a spare part.
