Few materials have such a long tradition in electrical engineering as porcelain. As early as 1882, rotary switches made of this finest ceramic were installed in New York's first public power station. The reason for this was not its aesthetic appeal, but rather its functional advantages: porcelain is resistant to dielectric strength and leakage current, age-resistant, and exceptionally hard. It is produced by sintering and firing at temperatures of up to 1700 °C and is therefore highly heat- and fire-resistant.
We use high-quality quartz porcelain (C 110) that complies with the material properties standard DIN VDE 0334, Part 3. It is exclusively manufactured for us by a German manufacturer of technical porcelain with a factory in Poland to produce the durable switches in this series and is then coated with a black glaze.
